Chatuchak is most famous for its weekend market, a must visit tourist attraction in Bangkok. However located adjacent to the market is another, less tourist visited site which is one of those special places in the city. It is the green space which includes three parks; Chatuchak, Queen Sirikit and Wachirabenchatat.
The parks in Bangkok are very popular places to walk, jog, sleep or just hang out. In a city as busy and noisy as this they are like an oasis.
One of the attractions available in the park is the Butterfly Garden. It is not easy to take photos of these beautiful creatures but here are a few.
A creative gardener has been at work in the next shot.
Also dotted throughout the park are various sculptures. I don't know the name of the artist or what they are meant to signify but I thought they were pretty cool.
Amazing how many parks must be in Bangkok. The photo of the river with the city skyline is not unlike Lumphini Park which we visited in April 2010. You are certainly making the most of your last couple of weeks in Bangkok. See you soon
